Menopause
Description:
Menofem is a unique combination of Cimicifuga racemose (Black cohosh), Trifolium pretense (Red clover) and Minerals.
Cimicifuga rcemosa: Black cohosh was shown to have estrogenic activity used mainly to treat gynecological disorders, especially painful periods and problems associated with menopause. It is very effective in restoring female hormonal balances and helps to relieve menopausal syndrome such as hot flushes and vaginal dryness.
Trifolium pretense: Red clover contains phytoestrogen a plant-based compound similar to estrogen. Phytoestrogen also known as isoflavones have estrogen like effect. In women with low estrogen level (such as postmenopausal women), phytoestrogen act like weak estrogen. Red clover may work to relieve the symptoms of menopause.
Calcium carbonate: Menopause leads to bone loss because decrease in estrogen production both increase bone resorption and decrease calcium absorption. Calcium supplements contain varying amounts of elemental calcium which helps to maintain calcium level.
Magnesium: This is an important mineral for bones in menopause. Magnesium is also known as ‘nature’s tranquilizer’, so it will help with symptoms such as anxiety, irritability and mood changes.
Uses / Indications:
Menofem relieves the symptoms of menopause and hot flushes associated with menopause. Menofem is a source of calcium which is beneficial during the increased requirement of calcium after menopause. Menofem is touted as a great reliever of many menopausal symptoms including night sweats, hot flushes and anxiety.
Interactions / Warnings:
In very rare cases, black cohosh has been associated with liver failure. If you are experiencing yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes, dark urine, nausea, vomiting, unusual tiredness, weakness, stomach or abdominal pain, and/of loss of appetite, you should stop using this product and see your doctor.
Expert advice:
If taking bold thinning medication, consult your doctor before talking Menofem. It is not recommended for women on estrogen-based birth control pills. Vitamin supplements should not replace a balanced diet. It symptoms persist, consult your healthcare practitioner.
Side Effects:
Menofem may cause indigestion, headache, nausea, vomiting, heaviness in legs, weight gain and low blood pressure.
How to use:
1 to 2 capsules a day or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner.
